HI Everyone! Happy Saturday!
Great News! The Festival of Lights is back again starting this weekend (Sept 3-12th) so be sure to check out the lit-up landmarks over the weekend when the kids can stay up a bit later. The theme this year is “Creating Tomorrow” and speaks to the preservation of our planet, promoting CO2 neutrality, and renewable energies. There are about 70 different locations throughout the city. You can see the whole program on their website.
For more weekend fun, if you are near Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg this afternoon (Saturday Sept 4th) there will be a street festival near The Volkspark am Weinberg: The Veteranenstrassenfest with music, clowns, flea market, open courtyards, art shows, and “Kinderactionen!” It goes from 15-22:00.
This weekend is also the Comic Invasion Festival taking place at the Museum for Communication! It takes place in the museum AND online, and is both Saturday and Sunday from 10-18:00. Entry is free but a ticket is recommended. Leipziger Straße 16, 10117 Berlin. There will be exhibits, readings, presentations, workshops, live drawing events, and concerts.
