Here are a few upcoming low-cost or free arts workshops for kids in various locations throughout the city:
In Stieglitz Werkstatt Hortensien there is an Open Studio on the 16th of December from 15-18:00 for ages 4-8: Children collect ideas from viewing the collection, and then create their own artwork. There is no registration necessary. For more info go to the Jugend in Museum website. (See Featured Image.)
The gelbe Villa in the Viktoria Quartier in Kreuzberg offers workshops with music, movement and art Fridays from 16-18:00 starting from age 6. Their workshops run parallel with the school schedule and next sessions will begin in February. You can choose from a huge variety of offerings including karate, skateboard, sewing, architecture, game design, clay, puppet theater, yoga, fashion, band, 3D Printing, and more.
At the Jugend Kunst Schule Lin Jaldati – Marzahn-Hellersdorf kids can take a free theater class and get to know the tricks and trades of theater professionals. It takes place Mondays from 15:30-17:30 and is for ages 8+. Email them or check back on their website for the next workshops: they should be beginning early 2022.
The Jugend Kunst Schule in Charlottenburg will also be offering lots of fun free or low-cost arts classes for kids, starting from age 6. Email them or check their website at the end of December/start of January for the new class listings, which will should in mid-January.
The Jugend Museum in Schöneberg has an Open Studio for kids ages 6+ to explore various materials on the first and third Sundays of the month from 14-17:00. For more info, visit their website.
The Jugend Kunst Schule in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (Tempelhof) has terrific after school offerings in theater, ceramics, sculpture photography and more for ages 5-16 as well. Email them or check their website at the end of December/start of January for the new class listings, which should start in mid-January.
