Hi Everyone!
The Tincon Festival for youth, ages 13-25, is coming up June 10th and 11th: It is a free festival for digital youth culture with workshops, talk shows, events and lectures where kids can learn from the experts about the various kinds of digital jobs being forged and network with other young people interested in the digital world covering a multitude of fields including science, activism, tech, lifestyle, and pop culture.
For the young train enthusiast, the Summer Festival at the Betriebsbahnhof Schöneweide is back, on the 11th and 12th of June, where kids can see and climb into or on real locomotives, ride on a tiny steam train or even a real sized one. There are food stands and a kind of flea market of classic electric train sets and train related memorabilia. It’s a bit gritty and the coal smoke can be intense, but the kids love it. Saturday 10-18:00, Sunday 10-17:00. 8€ Adults and 3€ Kids up to age 14.
Also on the 11th and 12th of June is the “Langer Tag der Stadtnatur,” or the long day of nature in the city. This will happen in many locations throughout the city with nature and animal expeditions, canoe tours, bird watching, honey collecting and more. You can find the events and look for something near you on their website.
