St Martin’s Day Lanterns

Hi Everyone! Happy Saturday! This Thursday November 11th will be St. Martin’s Day and many Kitas and schools in Germany celebrate with songs and a short parade through the streets with hand-crafted lanterns. We have put together a few links to creative ideas on making your own lantern at home. The light stick can be purchased at many shops around the city, including DM.

Tomorrow, November 7th, kids 4+ are invited to craft their own lantern using recycled materials at the Museum for Kommunikation from 14-17:00, with free entry. Leipziger Straße 1610117 Berlin. Please note: 20 participants are allowed per time-slot. Sign up at the desk. Each workshop starts on the hour, and lasts for 45 minutes so please plan ahead.

Geolino has some really sweet and simple lanterns you can make with your kids including houses from milk cartons, jellyfish, folded paper lanterns, and a unicorn one as well.
